At midnight on Christmas Eve, bells ring from a distant church. The sky outside is the deepest blue, snowflakes drift slowly, and a gold star hanging from the eaves sways gently.
She paints the blue and gold of that moment into ten nails, stroke by stroke — a quiet night, a shining blessing.
