Evening in the study. The setting sun slants through the window frame and falls on an old flower book lying open on the desk. The pink petals and little blue flowers on the page are edged by the light in a fine ring of gold.

She picks up her finest brush and, following the direction of the light, traces the shadows of the flowers one stroke at a time — a single line of gold, left on your fingertips.
