The story behind

An October afternoon, sunlight slanting into an old bookshop. She pulled a worn book of poems from the shelf; her tortoiseshell glasses slid down her nose, the caramel latte beside her slowly cooled, and outside the window the leaves turned chestnut one by one.

So this is how autumn's warmth deepens — one layer at a time. She painted that afternoon into ten nails that hold its warmth — deeply, in the colours of autumn.
